Privacy notice

This is the personal website of Ava Yazdani, run by the Yazdani family in the United Kingdom. It exists to share writing, pictures and videos. It is not a business and nothing is sold here.

What this site collects

  • Nothing you type. There are no accounts, comments or forms on this site.
  • Server logs. Like every website, the server keeps a short-lived log of the network address (IP) and page requested, used only to keep the site running and secure. Logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.
  • Visit counts. Visits are counted by software running on our own server that stores no personal data (addresses are anonymised and hashed before anything is written).
  • Google Analytics, only if you allow it. On your first visit a small notice asks whether you allow analytics cookies. If you choose “Essential only”, or make no choice, no analytics cookie is set and nothing is sent to Google. You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie choices” link at the bottom of every page.

Cookies

  • Essential: cc_consent remembers your cookie choice for 12 months.
  • Optional, only with your consent: Google Analytics _ga and _ga_* (up to 2 years). These let Google measure visits on our behalf; Google’s own privacy policy applies to that data.

Content loaded from other companies

Videos are embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no cookies until you press play. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and share buttons from AddToAny; fetching them tells those services your network address but sets no cookies.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can ask what information we hold about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Email mehrdadyazdani@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
